Seminário das Missões

Geophysical surveys at the Seminário das Missões, located in Central Portugal, revealed hidden medieval structures beneath the ground, possibly linked to the remains of the Paços de Bonjardim palace, traditionally believed to be the birthplace of Dom Nuno Álvares Pereira (1360–1431). Despite modern disturbances, the investigation identified probable structural remains and associated buildings, shedding new light on the site’s historical importance and opening the way for future targeted excavations.
